Cold-Preserved 4-Step Routine

The Essentials Routine

★★★★★ 4.9 560 reviews
Brightening Evens Tone Firms & Smooths Hydrating
Three full sizes + a bonus toner mini

Cleanse, tone, correct, and seal, in one cold-preserved system. Four steps built to work in sequence: B-Meltee lifts the day off without stripping, the Gaea’s Gala toner preps your skin to absorb, Cryo-C brightens and softens the look of dark spots, and D.B.T. Baba Yaga firms and seals it all in. Every step is formulated in small weekly batches and kept at 4°C from raw ingredient to finished bottle, so the actives inside are intact when they reach you: niacinamide that stays niacinamide, a ferment that stays alive, vitamin C that stays un-oxidized, peptides that stay whole. Three full-size bottles plus a bonus toner mini. About three minutes, morning and evening.

How to Use
Morning and evening:
  1. Dampen skin and massage 1 pump of B-Meltee in small circles for 60 seconds. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry
  2. Mist 3-5 sprays of Gaea’s Gala over face and neck from 6-8 inches away. Let air-dry for 30 seconds
  3. Shake Cryo-C gently, dispense 2-3 pumps, and press and smooth over face and neck. Allow 60 seconds to absorb
  4. Smooth 1-2 pumps of D.B.T. Baba Yaga over face, neck, and décolletage with light upward strokes, patting gently around the eyes and lips
Tip: The whole routine takes about three minutes. Short on time in the morning? The two steps that matter most are Cryo-C and D.B.T. Baba Yaga (steps 3 and 4).

Storage
You don't need to refrigerate products during daily use, but we recommend finishing each bottle within 90 days of leaving the fridge. If you're not ready to start using a product right away, store it cold until you are (any household fridge is fine). Don't freeze water-based products, and shake well after thawing if any do freeze. Keep all products out of direct sunlight.

Four steps, full potency

The four-step routine that arrives alive

Cold-preserved from the moment each step is formulated: no warm warehouses, no months on a shelf, no chemical stabilizers. Every step reaches your skin at the same potency as the day it was made. Tap a card to see how each one works.

Cleans without stripping

Step 1 · B-Meltee

Lifts the day off, cool not tight

Wintergreen and peppermint oils dissolve makeup, sunscreen, and daily buildup at the pore level while cold-preserved niacinamide regulates oil and brightens tone during the wash itself. Coconut-derived glucoside surfactants clean without stripping the moisture barrier most cleansers destroy. Skin feels clean and cool, never tight.

Step 2 · Gaea’s Gala

The step that makes the rest work harder

Six ingredients, every one functional. Galactomyces ferment filtrate refines the look of pores and feeds the beneficial microflora on your skin’s surface. Rose damascena distillate restores the pH your cleanser disrupts, and niacinamide strengthens the moisture barrier. This is what helps everything that follows absorb better and work harder.

Step 3 · Cryo-C

Reaches where dark spots start

Lipid-soluble vitamin C penetrates the skin’s oil barrier to reach the melanocytes where dark spots form, targeting the enzyme behind pigment overproduction. Siberian sea buckthorn oil delivers antioxidant protection and the visible glow reviewers describe within the first week, while rosehip and plant squalane create the smooth, light-reflecting surface that makes radiance visible.

Step 4 · D.B.T. Baba Yaga

The step that seals everything beneath it

Three collagen-signaling peptides trigger your skin’s own collagen production, targeting the fine lines that form when it slows. A bio-identical ceramide complex (three ceramide types, phytosphingosine, and cholesterol) restores the barrier that thins with age, and German chamomile and rose damascena calm inflammation so the actives can work. This is the step that seals everything beneath it.

More on why heat matters
Three short chapters: the journey, the chemistry, and the beauty-fridge problem
The conventional supply chain

The Journey That Adds Up

So what does all that heat do?

The Problem Was Never Your Routine.

Preservatives fight one problem. Heat causes three.

Bacterial growth 1

Bacterial Digestion

Bacteria multiply in warm formulas. Preservatives suppress them. Cold slows them too, without adding to what your skin has to absorb.

Oxidation reactions 2

Redox Reactions

Heat drives chemical reactions that degrade vitamin C, ceramides, and peptides. Preservatives don't slow this process. Cold does.

Enzymatic activity 3

Enzymatic Activity

Plant enzymes keep breaking down botanical compounds after harvest. Preservatives don't affect this. Cold puts them on pause.

Skincare mini fridge with a rotten banana
About those beauty fridges

Cold Can't Unspoil the Banana

Everyone wants fresh skincare. That's why beauty fridges are everywhere. But chilling a conventional serum makes about as much sense as refrigerating an old banana.

Your serum absorbed 1,956 degree-days of heat before it ever met a fridge. A banana at least has the courtesy to turn brown; a degraded cream looks and feels identical to a fresh one.

Beauty fridges make conventional skincare cold at the end. Wild Ice is cold from the beginning.

From our studio to your door

Cold from the very first step

Every step in the Essentials Routine is formulated in small weekly batches in our studio and held cold at 4°C, from raw ingredient through formulation.

Ingredients kept cold

Every ingredient stored at 4°C from the moment it arrives.

🧪

Formulated fresh

Formulated in small weekly batches, cold throughout.

📦

Held at 4°C

Finished bottles go straight into cold storage and stay there.

Shipped within days

Made fresh weekly, so actives are still active when they reach you.

So why don't all brands chill?

Between warm warehouses, hot freight, and un-chilled retail shelves, it's nearly impossible to get big while staying cold. The industry won't change until enough customers demand it. Someone had to take the plunge first, so we did.

Mila, founder of Wild Ice Botanicals

Fresh was never optional

I grew up in the Soviet Union watching my grandmother make skincare from her garden. It worked because it was fresh. There was no other option.

In 2018, I began cold-storing every ingredient and finished product. I hadn't changed a single formula; the reviews changed on their own. A national retailer offered us shelf placement but refused to refrigerate. We walked away.

Every product is made in our studio, in small weekly batches. I've worn every formula through three pregnancies. Every bottle is one I'd use on my own family.

Common questions about cold-preserved skincare

Frequently Asked Questions

Four cold-preserved steps: B-Meltee Cooling Facial Cleanser (50 ml), a bonus Gaea’s Gala Galactomyces Ferment Toner mini (8 ml), Cryo-C Vitamin C Glow Serum (50 ml), and D.B.T. Baba Yaga Peptide & Ceramide Face Cream (50 ml). Together they cover cleanse, tone, correct, and seal.
Cleanse with B-Meltee, mist Gaea’s Gala toner, press in Cryo-C serum, then seal with D.B.T. Baba Yaga cream. Each step is formulated to prepare your skin for the next, morning and evening. On busy mornings, the two that matter most are Cryo-C and D.B.T. Baba Yaga.
Many reviewers describe a brighter, fresher-looking complexion within the first couple of weeks. Firmer, more even-looking skin builds gradually over time, because the routine works by keeping each active intact rather than sitting on the surface. Consistency matters more than quantity; twice daily, every day.
Most customers finish B-Meltee in 8 to 10 weeks, the Gaea’s Gala mini in about a week, Cryo-C in 6 to 8 weeks, and D.B.T. Baba Yaga in 8 to 10 weeks. Most people reorder about every 10 weeks.
Not necessarily. The Essentials Routine covers every fundamental step, so it is the simplest way to put your whole regimen on one cold chain. If you already have a cleanser or toner you like, Cryo-C and D.B.T. Baba Yaga alone cover the two steps that deliver the most visible results, and the Glow Duo bundles those two together.
Every product in the routine is free of chemical preservatives, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, parabens, and phthalates. D.B.T. Baba Yaga contains German chamomile and rose damascena, both anti-inflammatory, and B-Meltee uses coconut-derived glucoside surfactants, among the gentlest available. If your skin is very reactive, start with steps 3 and 4 and add the cleanser and toner after your skin adjusts.
You don’t need to refrigerate products during daily use, but we recommend finishing each bottle within 90 days of leaving the fridge. If you’re not ready to start using one right away, store it cold until you are (any household fridge is fine). Don’t freeze water-based products, and keep everything out of direct sunlight. A beauty fridge is a nice bonus, not a requirement: the cold-preservation advantage happens before the products ever reach you.
No chemical preservatives (cold does the preserving), no synthetic fragrances (scents come from botanical oils and distillates), no synthetic dyes (colors come from natural plant compounds), no parabens, no phthalates, no sulfates, and no animal-derived ingredients. Every product in the Essentials Routine is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
