Why Lipid-Soluble C

The common marketing of water-soluble L-ascorbic acid as the most effective form of Vitamin C stems from one study comparing it to three inferior alternatives. Armed with this narrow study, and because it's by far the cheapest form of vitamin C, L-ascorbic acid has become the go-to choice for most brands.

Cryo-C achieves superior penetration with Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate: a lipid-soluble form of Vitamin C that avoids the common pitfalls of its water-soluble cousins (skin aggravation, failure to penetrate, stale ineffective actives) without clogging pores. Directions

Use Cryo-C after toning to brighten and nourish your skin. Not using a toner or other serums? Simply apply Cryo-C after washing.

To use, shake gently, then gently massage two to three pumps into your face and neck using small circular motions.

    Do I need to keep Cryo-C cold?

    More than 95% of a typical skincare product's lifecycle consists of everything that happens before it gets into your hands (and onto your skin).

    So, while chilling your products is never bad, we want to emphasize that the important thing is using fresh products frequently. They do no good as museum pieces on your vanity.

    So if chilling your products gets in the way of performing a consistent routine, or is too much of a hassle, don't stress about it. You're still getting 95% of the benefit so long as you're using them daily, in which case they should be finished within two to three months.

    If you want the absolute freshest skincare possible, then chilling them is helpful. The caveat is that you'll need to thaw them fully before each use.

    So the short answer is no, you don't have to chill them. And you should not stress about it. But, if you're hardcore, then you certainly can, so long as you thaw fully before use.

    Note that if for some reason you plan to wait a month or more before you actually start using your products, then do go ahead and put them in your kitchen refrigerator at least until you begin using them.

    What if the products are left at my door? Will they be ruined?

    That's ok!

    Use the iceberg analogy when you think about conventional skincare: the vast majority of product breakdown occurs where you don't see it—in warehouses, distribution centers, and store shelves. Those hidden portions of a product's journey are where the vast majority of degradation occurs.

    A bit of time waiting for you to come home is a tiny drop in the bucket, which is why we tell our customers never to stress.

    Get fresh products and use them daily (they can't work their magic from inside the bottle)—that's the secret to your best skin.

    Other vitamin C serums clog my pores. Will Cryo-C make me break out?

    Here’s a little secret: vitamin C itself does not cause acne, but the added fillers in your store-bought C serum might be breaking you out.

    At Wild Ice, we formulate our serum with only light, non-comedogenic ingredients that won’t give you acne. But they will make you glow!

    What kind of vitamin C does Cryo-C use?

    We formulate Cryo-C with a pure, lipid-soluble vitamin C called Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate because it penetrates skin better than ascorbic acid (the type of vitamin C used in most store-bought skincare products). It’s also an extremely powerful antioxidant whose potency is well complemented by cold preservation. A true win-win-win.

    Is Cryo-C okay to use on oily skin?

    Yes! Think of Cryo-C like an essential vitamin. Your skin needs it, no matter what condition it’s in. We’ve formulated Cryo-C as a balancing oil-based serum that supports all skin types—including oily skin.

    Why don't other brands use cold preservation instead of chemicals?

    Conventional brands want:

    1. Retail chains to stock them,
    2. Distribution by a massive network like Amazon,
    3. Production outsourced to a large manufacturer.

    None of these offer cold preservation. It's easier to just go with the flow than it is to swim against the currents of retail, distribution, and production.

    In short, it's a problem of industry inertia, aka "lock-in."

    Will Cryo-C heal my scars?

    If you have a scar less than two years old, Cryo-C can help to diminish its appearance. We have had customers report some truly incredible results. The sooner you begin using Cryo-C after your wound has fully healed, the better your results are likely to be.

    Does Cryo-C contain synthetic dyes or fragrances?

    Absolutely not! Like all Wild Ice products, Cryo-C’s beautiful scent and color comes from botanicals and other natural ingredients.

    Do I need a cosmetics mini-fridge?

    Our advice is to skip the mini fridge. With skincare, most decay happens well before a product gets into your hands.

    And while cold stops products from breaking down, it can’t reverse decay that’s already occurred.

    What matters is that the products you use arrive in their most potent state, and that you use them promptly and frequently.

    If you feel that you simply must have one then that’s fine too – it certainly won’t hurt. In the event that you accidently freeze a product just be sure to thaw and shake before use.

    Do you test any of your products on animals?

    Absolutely not. We have never (and will never) test our products on our animal friends. We test on our (willing) human friends instead.

    Are your products vegan?

    Absolutely, our products are always vegan. They never contain tallow or any other animal fats or animal by-products.

    Skin Changing!

    I wear sunscreen on my face, neck, and on my tattoos. Over time, it starts to build up even if I wash it off at the end of every day. Yuki-Onna Facial helps exfoliate away any issues - it immediately moisturizes and keeps the skin feeling soothed from the oils. I like to soften the sugar granules with warm water to use on my face and my tattoos for a gentler scrub, and the regular granule size is great for the rest of the body! I also stored this in the fridge one time because I thought the bathroom steam would heat up the sugar and melt it, but it solidified in the fridge from the oils/butters. So just store it in your room or similar. :-)

    I’ve been using the 4-step set for a year now. My overall complexion has improved! I like all 4 products, but my favorite is Cryo-C. I used to think oily products promoted oily skin. Wild Ice Botanicals has proven that is not the case. My skin seems more balanced than ever. I rarely even have to “powder my nose” like I’ve done most of my life with an oily complexion. If I were limited to just one product I’d choose Cryo-C.

    Crispy and Works!

    I never thought I would enjoy a toner before... I used to think they were rather pointless, didn't work, and difficult to apply since most the product gets absorbed in a cotton ball or hands. I've tried a handful of toners, but they left my face sticky, or didn't work that well. But Ms. Gala?? She is refreshing, crispy, clean, and actually does balance your face, to my surprise. The atomizer spray is perfect and doesn't waste product. I will definitely repurchase this!

    These products are absolutely amazing. They smell so good, and I’ve noticed a difference in the elasticity of my skin as well as the brightness and the few wrinkles I have.     Soothing Moisture for even Sensitive Skin

    Berry Boreal Bod is such a great moisturizer after a bath or shower. I have patches of eczema that flare from time to time and this is one of the few oils with a natural scent that doesn't make it worse. The fragrance is almost a crisp mountain meadow smell. I love putting this on in the evening after my shower and before bed. I wake up to soft skin and no irritation.

    Best serum on the market

    Soothing Vit C Serum

    Unexpected product. Very soothing and hydrating. Takes a minute to soak in but not stingy or drying at all. I enjoy the feel of it. Cannot wear make up over it which isn’t a big deal as I don’t wear make up much. However any Vit C is tough to wear make up over.

    Incredible product-great results!

    I am 65 years old and have tried many high end products over the years.
