Fresh Essentials for Dryness

Tight after washing, flaky by the afternoon: rich, layerable formulas that give your skin something to hold onto

D.B.T. Baba Yaga

Ceramides are the glue holding your skin cells together, and dryness is where you notice them missing. This is the rich last step, so whatever you layered underneath stays where you put it.

7 Winters

Vegetable collagen and tripeptide-29 leave tight, papery-looking skin looking fuller and less drawn. Put this on before the cream and never in place of it.

Berry Boreal Bod

Winter dryness runs down your arms and shins, not just across your face. Blue tansy and elderberry sit in an oil that sinks in under a minute, and it earns daily use in the cold months.

What goes on before the cream matters too

The cream can only seal in what is already there, so the steps before it decide how much your skin has to hold. The Essentials Routine puts the wash, the toner and the serum in front of D.B.T. Baba Yaga in a single order. If tightness starts the moment you towel off, that first step is where to look.

Answered

The first question is the one our own line raises. Here is the honest answer.

Everything in the line is listed here. Which ones are for dryness itself?
Nearly every formula shows up under dryness because none of them are built to strip. There is no preservative system in any of them. One bottle can suit a face that goes tight by noon and one that never does. Start with the top three if tightness and flaking are why you came. The others sit alongside them without competing for the same job.
Can I use 7 Winters in place of a moisturizer?

Nope! 7 Winters is a firming and lifting serum, not a moisturizer. Grab a container of DBT Baba Yaga to moisturize after using 7 Winters.

Can I use D.B.T. Baba Yaga around my eyes?

Absolutely! Apply the cream using your ring finger in circular motions around the entire eye area, upper and lower lids. To get the most of your cream, also apply it around your lips to reduce the appearance of smile lines.

How often should I use Berry Boreal Bod?

For best results, use Berry Boreal Bod daily—especially in the winter when your skin is driest! For the softest skin, exfoliate once per week with Wintry Fix, then follow up with Berry Boreal Bod.

Can I use Wintry Fix daily?

Wintry Fix is a potent exfoliant, so we don’t recommend using it every day. Once per week is sufficient for most folks. But for areas of your body that are especially dry and flaky, you may want to use it 2-3 times per week.

Can I use Berry Boreal Bod on my face?

We’ve designed Berry Boreal Bod to be deeply hydrating for your entire body. To hydrate the delicate skin on your face, we recommend D.B.T. Baba Yaga—our Siberian Cold Cream.

Hydration is only half of it

Dry skin usually gets treated as a shortage of water, so the answer looks like more water. Water on its own evaporates. What tight, flaky skin needs is something that draws moisture in, then something richer laid over the top to hold it there. That is why these two layer: the plumping treatment first, the ceramide cream second. If your face feels comfortable at nine and papery by two, the missing piece is usually the one you skipped.

The ingredients that comfort your skin when it is dry are the delicate ones. Botanical lipids and ferments are the first to break down in a warm warehouse. By the time a conventional bottle reaches you, it has already had a long summer. Ours never leave refrigeration between the studio bench and the sealed bottle. That is also why no synthetic preservative system is holding any of this together, and why the label on the back stays short.
