Most cleansers strip your skin to get it clean. They don't have to.

That tight, dry feeling after washing isn't proof your skin is clean. It means the cleanser dissolved your moisture barrier along with the dirt. A cleanser with intact niacinamide can refine pores, regulate oil, and brighten tone during the wash itself. Without taking anything your skin needs.

Why These Ingredients Work

Most cleansers use harsh surfactants to dissolve oil from the surface. That approach clears the skin temporarily, but it takes the moisture barrier with it. The underlying causes of congestion and excess oil return within hours.

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)

The treatment active in a formula designed to rinse off. Niacinamide regulates sebum production at the cellular level, reducing the excess oil that stretches pores and creates congestion. It stimulates ceramide synthesis to strengthen the moisture barrier rather than strip it. And it inhibits melanin transfer to the skin's surface, which is why consistent use evens tone and brightens complexion. These actions begin on contact and compound over weeks of use.

Wintergreen + Peppermint Oils

The cleansing mechanism that replaces harsh surfactants. Wintergreen's natural methyl salicylate dissolves sebum and debris at the pore level with antimicrobial properties that synthetic surfactants lack. Peppermint's menthol increases local blood flow, improving delivery of every other active in the formula. The cooling sensation isn't decorative. It's vasodilation drawing fresh circulation to the surface.

Natural AHA Complex (Lactic Acid + Fruit Extracts)

Sugar cane, lemon, and apple extracts provide gentle alpha-hydroxy acids that loosen the bonds holding dead cells to the surface. This is the resurfacing layer: it works from the outside while niacinamide works from within, dissolving the buildup that dulls complexion and clogs pores. The result is smoother texture from the first use, without physical scrubbing or the tightness that follows conventional exfoliation.

Why This Version Works When Others Didn't

If you've used niacinamide products before and they irritated your skin, the niacinamide itself may not have been the problem.

Niacinamide is water-soluble. Most cleansers are water-based. When niacinamide sits in a warm aqueous formula for months, it undergoes hydrolysis: it converts to nicotinic acid. Nicotinic acid causes vasodilation, flushing, and irritation. The ingredient that was supposed to calm redness and refine pores, when degraded, produces the opposite effect.

This is one reason people believe they're "sensitive to niacinamide." They may be reacting not to the active, but to its breakdown product.

Wild Ice cold-preserves B-Meltee's ingredients and finished formula at 4°C from arrival through formulation and storage. The niacinamide reaches your skin as niacinamide, not as the irritant it becomes in warm storage.

"I figured that a product I wash off won't do much good … This cleanser leaves my skin clear, refreshed, and comfortable."

Size: 50 ml / 1.7 fl oz | Dispenser: Pump

Not ready for full size? Try the mini for $16.

How to Use

Morning and evening:

  1. Dampen skin (not soaking, just misted)
  2. Dispense one pump into clean hands
  3. Massage in small circles for 60 seconds, paying extra attention to the T-zone
  4. Rinse with lukewarm water (not hot)
  5. Follow with Gaea's Gala toner, then Cryo-C serum and D.B.T. Baba Yaga moisturizer

Tip: The cooling sensation is normal. It's the wintergreen and peppermint oils increasing circulation. It should feel invigorating, never harsh.

Storage: You don't need to refrigerate products during daily use, but we recommend finishing each bottle within 90 days of leaving the fridge. If you're not ready to start using a product right away, store it cold until you are (the kitchen fridge is fine). Don't freeze water-based products, and shake well after thawing if any do freeze. Keep all products out of direct sunlight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will B-Meltee irritate sensitive skin?

B-Meltee uses coconut-derived glucoside surfactants, which are among the gentlest cleansing agents available. The wintergreen and peppermint create a noticeable cooling sensation, but the formula is balanced with chamomile, aloe, and holy basil to prevent irritation. Many customers with sensitive skin, including those with eczema, use B-Meltee without issues.

There's a second factor worth noting. When niacinamide degrades in warm storage, it converts to nicotinic acid, which causes flushing and irritation. If you've reacted to niacinamide products before, the niacinamide itself may not have been the cause. Cold preservation prevents that conversion, so the formula that reaches your skin is the one that was designed.

Why is it blue?

The blue comes from natural botanical compounds in the formula. No synthetic dyes, no colorants of any kind. It's one of the first things people notice, and it's what a cleanser looks like when it's made entirely from real plant extracts rather than synthetic alternatives.

How long does a bottle last?

Most customers finish a bottle in 8 to 10 weeks using one pump twice daily. A single pump covers the full face and neck.

Can I use B-Meltee to remove makeup?

Yes. The wintergreen and peppermint oils dissolve makeup effectively, including around the eyes (avoid direct contact with eyes). For heavy or waterproof makeup, massage for 90 seconds instead of the standard 60. You should not need a separate makeup remover.

What's not in this formula?

No synthetic dyes (the blue comes entirely from natural botanical compounds), no synthetic fragrances (the scent comes from wintergreen, peppermint, and rosemary oils), no sulfates, no parabens, no phthalates, and no animal-derived ingredients. B-Meltee is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

The ingredients on your label are probably excellent. The problem is what happened to them before they reached your skin.

Conventional skincare absorbs heat at every stop between the factory and your bathroom. That heat breaks down the actives you're paying for.

    We measured exactly how much.

Preservatives Fight One Problem. Heat Causes Three.

    Bacterial growth

    Bacterial Digestion

Bacteria multiply in warm formulas. Preservatives suppress this. So does cold, without the chemical load on your skin.

    Oxidation reactions

    Redox Reactions

Heat drives chemical reactions that degrade vitamin C, ceramides, and peptides. Preservatives don't slow this process. Cold does.

    Enzymatic activity

    Enzymatic Activity

Plant enzymes keep breaking down botanical compounds after harvest. Preservatives don't affect this. Cold puts them on pause.

Skincare mini fridge with rotten banana illustrating that cold cannot reverse prior heat damage

    Cold Can't Unspoil the Banana

Beauty fridges are popular because everyone wants fresh skincare. But putting conventional products in one makes about as much sense as refrigerating an old banana.

Your serum already absorbed 1,900+ degree-days of heat damage before it reached you. Months of warm ingredient storage, manufacturing, and warehousing.

A spoiled banana has the courtesy to turn brown. A degraded cream looks and feels identical to a fresh one. You just wonder why your skin isn't improving.

Beauty fridges make conventional skincare cold at the end. Wild Ice is cold from the beginning.

Why Don't Other Brands Chill Too?

Retail won't refrigerate it. Amazon requires products to withstand 155°F indefinitely. Contract manufacturers formulate at room temperature. The conventional supply chain is built around products that survive heat, not products that avoid it.

Cold preservation means no retail placement, no marketplace distribution, no outsourced production. It requires small-batch formulation, dedicated cold storage, and shipping directly to you.

We built Wild Ice from the ground up around that model.

    Meet Your Formulator

I grew up in the Soviet Union watching my grandmother make skincare from her garden. It worked because it was fresh. There was no other option.

In 2018, I began cold-storing every ingredient and finished product. I hadn't changed a single formula. The reviews changed on their own.

A national retailer offered us shelf placement but refused to refrigerate our products. We walked away.

I hand-formulate every product in small weekly batches. I've worn every formula through three pregnancies. Every bottle is one I'd use on my own family.

    Common Questions About Cold-Preserved Skincare

Do I need a beauty fridge?

It helps but it's not required. Our products are formulated to remain stable at room temperature for the duration of normal use (most customers finish a product within 6-8 weeks). The cold preservation advantage happens before the product reaches you: cold-stored ingredients, cold formulation, cold warehousing. That's where conventional skincare accumulates months of heat damage that we avoid entirely.

If you do have a beauty fridge, storing Wild Ice products in it will extend their potency even further. But you're already getting the product at a level of freshness that room-temperature brands can't match, fridge or no fridge.

What if my package sits at my door while I'm at work?

A few hours of doorstep time doesn't meaningfully affect the product. Conventional skincare accumulates thousands of degree-days of heat damage across its supply chain lifecycle. A package sitting in afternoon sun for four hours might add a single-digit number of degree-days. The gap between Wild Ice and conventional products is so large that even a full day on a hot porch leaves our products with a fraction of the heat damage a conventional product accumulated before it was even sealed in its box.

How long do products last once I'm using them?

Most customers use a product within 6-8 weeks of receiving it. During that time, stored at room temperature, the product remains stable and effective. If you're not planning to start using it right away (gifting it, finishing another product first), store it in any refrigerator until you're ready. The kitchen fridge works fine.

Our products don't contain the heavy chemical preservative loads that give conventional skincare an 18-month shelf life, because they don't need them. They're made fresh, shipped fast, and designed to be used, not stockpiled.

Are your products safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Mila formulated and tested every Wild Ice product during pregnancy and breastfeeding. She has worn every formula through three pregnancies. Our products use no parabens, no synthetic fragrances, no phthalates, and no chemical preservatives: the ingredients you're typically told to avoid during pregnancy aren't in the bottle to begin with.

Hundreds of customers have used Wild Ice products during pregnancy and breastfeeding. That said, we always recommend checking with your OB or midwife before adding anything new to your routine. Every practitioner has their own guidance, and we respect that.

If cold preservation is so effective, why isn't everyone doing it?

Because it's expensive, logistically difficult, and incompatible with how the industry distributes products. Conventional skincare is built to survive months of warm warehousing, long-haul freight, and retail shelf display. That entire infrastructure depends on products being shelf-stable in heat.

Major retailers won't install product fridges that rearrange floor space and make their other lines look inferior. Amazon requires products to withstand 155°F indefinitely, with no exceptions. We asked.

Cold preservation requires a completely different model: small batches, dedicated cold storage, direct-to-consumer shipping, and no retail partners. Most brands can't or won't restructure their entire operation around temperature control. We built Wild Ice from scratch specifically to do this, and we turned down retail distribution to protect it.

    Do you ship cold?

Not yet, though we're actively working on it. Here's why it matters less than you'd think.

The days a product spends in a shipping box are a tiny fraction of its total lifecycle. The real damage in conventional skincare happens during months of warm ingredient storage, warehousing, and retail display. That's where thousands of degree-days of heat damage accumulate. Transit adds a small, single-digit number by comparison.

We could put a cold pack in every box. But that would be an expensive gesture solving roughly 2% of the problem while raising your price. The cold preservation that matters is everything before the box, and that's the part we've solved.
