Niacinamide regulates sebum production at the cellular level, reducing the excess oil that stretches pores and creates congestion. It stimulates ceramide synthesis to strengthen the moisture barrier rather than strip it, and it slows the transfer of melanin to the surface, which is why consistent use evens the look of tone. Wintergreen’s natural methyl salicylate dissolves sebum and debris at the pore, with antimicrobial properties synthetic surfactants lack. Peppermint’s menthol draws fresh circulation to the surface: that is the cooling sensation, not a fragrance trick, and it helps carry every other active in deeper. I grew up in the Soviet Union watching my grandmother make skincare from her garden. It worked because it was fresh. There was no other option.
In 2018, I began cold-storing every ingredient and finished product. I hadn't changed a single formula; the reviews changed on their own. A national retailer offered us shelf placement but refused to refrigerate. We walked away.
