$18.00
8 ml / 0.3 fl oz · fine mist

The same formula as the full-size Gaea’s Gala, in a travel-size bottle sized to try before you commit. It preps your skin for everything that comes next: galactomyces ferment to refine the look of pores and balance oil, organic rose damascena distillate to restore pH after cleansing, niacinamide to fortify the barrier, and lactic acid with lactobacillus to smooth and repopulate. Six ingredients, every one functional, formulated in small weekly batches and kept at 4°C from raw ingredient to finished bottle so the ferment reaches your skin at full potency. A weightless mist that dries down in under a minute and layers cleanly under everything else. No chemical preservatives, because cold does their job. Made to let you experience the results before committing to the full size.

Full Ingredient List
We formulate with ingredients most brands can’t touch. Because our formulas live their whole lives cold, shelf stability never enters the equation: no swapping the fragile ferment for tougher, weaker stand-ins, and no preservative system to design around. Just the best ingredient for the job, however delicate.

Key actives: galactomyces ferment filtrate, a nutrient-dense yeast ferment that refines the look of pore texture, balances oil, and feeds the skin’s beneficial microflora; organic rose damascena distillate to restore pH after cleansing; niacinamide (vitamin B3) to strengthen the moisture barrier; lactic acid and lactobacillus ferment to smooth the surface and repopulate the microbiome.

Full list: Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Rose (Rosa Damascena) Distillate*, Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide), Vegetable Glycerin (Glycerin)*, Lactic Acid, Lactobacillus Ferment.

Storage
You don't need to refrigerate products during daily use, but we recommend finishing each bottle within 90 days of leaving the fridge. If you're not ready to start using a product right away, store it cold until you are (any household fridge is fine). Don't freeze water-based products, and shake well after thawing if any do freeze. Keep all products out of direct sunlight.
Common Questions
Do I really need a toner?
If you apply serums or moisturizers after cleansing, yes. Cleansing leaves your skin’s surface alkaline and stripped of the microflora that protect it, so what you apply next sinks into terrain that isn’t ready. Gaea’s Gala resets pH, feeds the microbiome, and refines texture so the rest of your routine performs. Most customers notice the difference within the first week.
Will the lactic acid irritate my skin?
Lactic acid is the gentlest of the alpha hydroxy acids, at a concentration built for twice-daily use. It smooths without the stinging of glycolic acid. If your skin is very sensitive, start once daily and build from there.
How long does the mini last?
About a week to ten days using 3 to 5 spritzes twice daily. The 8 ml bottle holds around 50 sprays: a trial size, or a travel companion, rather than a long-term supply. The full-size 50 ml bottle lasts 6 to 8 weeks.

Three actives, full potency

The ferment toner that arrives alive

Cold-preserved from the moment it's formulated: no warm warehouses, no months on a shelf, no chemical stabilizers. Three actives reach your skin at the same potency as the day they were made. Tap a card to see the mechanism.

Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate

Balances without stripping

A nutrient-dense ferment discovered when researchers traced the remarkably smooth, youthful hands of elderly sake brewers back to the yeast byproduct of fermentation. Rich in amino acids, organic acids, and vitamins, it refines the look of pore texture, helps regulate oil, and feeds the beneficial microflora that keep your barrier intact. It is the reason skin feels balanced after a single mist: not stripped, not oily, just even. Its value lives in fragile fermentation metabolites, the first thing heat takes apart.

Rose Damascena + Niacinamide

Restores the acid mantle

Organic rose water brings your skin back to its natural acidity after cleansing, when the surface sits alkaline and unprotected. That acid mantle is your first defense against moisture loss and irritation. Niacinamide fortifies it from the other side, strengthening the moisture barrier, tightening the look of pores, and evening tone. One resets the surface. The other reinforces it.

Lactic Acid + Lactobacillus Ferment

Smooths and repopulates

Lactic acid is the gentlest of the alpha hydroxy acids: it dissolves the bonds between dead surface cells to smooth texture, without the sting of glycolic acid. Lactobacillus is a probiotic ferment that repopulates the beneficial microflora keeping your barrier functioning. One clears the old surface. The other rebuilds the new one.

More on why heat matters
Three short chapters: the journey, the chemistry, and the beauty-fridge problem
The conventional supply chain

The Journey That Adds Up

0
degree-days of heat absorbed before it reaches you
heat warehouse
Months in a warm warehouse
heat truck trailer
155°F trailer summers

No fridge at the store
So what does all that heat do?

The Problem Was Never Your Routine.

Preservatives fight one problem. Heat causes three.

Bacterial growth 1

Bacterial Digestion

Bacteria multiply in warm formulas. Preservatives suppress them. Cold slows them too, without adding to what your skin has to absorb.

Oxidation reactions 2

Redox Reactions

Heat drives chemical reactions that degrade vitamin C, ceramides, and peptides. Preservatives don't slow this process. Cold does.

Enzymatic activity 3

Enzymatic Activity

Plant enzymes keep breaking down botanical compounds after harvest. Preservatives don't affect this. Cold puts them on pause.

Skincare mini fridge with a rotten banana
About those beauty fridges

Cold Can't Unspoil the Banana

Everyone wants fresh skincare. That's why beauty fridges are everywhere. But chilling a conventional serum makes about as much sense as refrigerating an old banana.

Your serum absorbed 1,956 degree-days of heat before it ever met a fridge. A banana at least has the courtesy to turn brown; a degraded cream looks and feels identical to a fresh one.

Beauty fridges make conventional skincare cold at the end. Wild Ice is cold from the beginning.

So why don't all brands chill?

Between warm warehouses, hot freight, and un-chilled retail shelves, it's nearly impossible to get big while staying cold. The industry won't change until enough customers demand it. Someone had to take the plunge first, so we did.

Mila, founder of Wild Ice Botanicals

Fresh was never optional

I grew up in the Soviet Union watching my grandmother make skincare from her garden. It worked because it was fresh. There was no other option.

In 2018, I began cold-storing every ingredient and finished product. I hadn't changed a single formula; the reviews changed on their own. A national retailer offered us shelf placement but refused to refrigerate. We walked away.

Every product is made in our studio, in small weekly batches. I've worn every formula through three pregnancies. Every bottle is one I'd use on my own family.

Common questions about cold-preserved skincare

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re applying serums or moisturizers after cleansing, yes. Every cleanser disrupts your skin’s pH and strips beneficial microflora, so the products you apply next absorb into a surface that isn’t ready for them. Gaea’s Gala restores pH, feeds the microbiome, and refines the look of texture so your serums and creams can do what they were formulated to do. Most customers notice the difference in how their other products perform within the first week.
Most customers notice the difference in the first week, usually in how balanced their skin feels through the day and how cleanly their serums and creams go on. Refinement in the look of pore texture and tone builds gradually with twice-daily use. Consistency matters more than quantity; morning and evening, every day.
Lactic acid is the gentlest of the alpha hydroxy acids and is present at a concentration designed for twice-daily use. It dissolves dead surface cells without the stinging or peeling associated with glycolic acid. If your skin is very sensitive or reactive, start with once daily and build from there.

There’s a second factor worth noting. When toner ingredients degrade through heat and oxidation, they can form new compounds that irritate skin even when the original formula was perfectly gentle. Cold preservation prevents that degradation, so the formula that reaches your skin is the one that was designed.
Every type. Galactomyces helps balance oil for combination and oily skin, while the organic rose water base and lactobacillus ferment keep it gentle enough for sensitive and reactive skin. It is non-drying, which is why longtime toner skeptics tend to become its most loyal users.
A fine, weightless mist that dries down in under a minute and never leaves skin sticky or tight. The scent comes entirely from rose damascena distillate: soft, fresh, and natural, with no synthetic fragrance. Most reviewers simply call it refreshing.
About a week to ten days using 3 to 5 spritzes twice daily. The 8 ml bottle holds around 50 sprays, so a little goes a long way, but the mini is meant as a trial size or a travel companion rather than a long-term supply. The full-size 50 ml bottle lasts 6 to 8 weeks.
Yes. Identical formula, same six ingredients, same weekly batch cycle, same cold storage. The only differences are the bottle size and the fill. The mini exists so you can experience the reset before committing to the full size.
You don’t need to refrigerate products during daily use, but we recommend finishing each bottle within 90 days of leaving the fridge. If you’re not ready to start using a product right away, store it cold until you are (the kitchen fridge is fine). Don’t freeze water-based products, and keep all products out of direct sunlight. Many customers keep this one chilled anyway, simply because a cold mist feels wonderful. A beauty fridge is a nice bonus, not a requirement: the cold-preservation advantage happens before the product ever reaches you.
No synthetic dyes, no synthetic fragrances (the scent comes entirely from rose damascena distillate), no chemical preservatives, no parabens, no phthalates, no emulsifiers, no alcohol. Gaea’s Gala is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
